Dear Friend:
Since before the Wright Brothers first took flight
(1903)...
Since before the shoot-out at the OK corral (1881)...
Even before there was chewing gum (1869)...
...there was a small company named Henry Hall (est. 1866).
In 1866 at the age of 17, Thomas Henry Hall opened a
small book and stationery store on Philadelphia Street in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the
future hometown of Jimmy Stewart. There, he advertised
books, stationery, gift cards, musical instruments, guns, revolvers, ammunition and
fishing tackle, to name a few items.
The retail store still exists on Philadelphia Street
(but it's a bit more modernized!). The original seed that was planted by Henry Hall has
produced a thriving, customer-centered business which has spanned the years, and now, the
globe.
It's hard to imagine that a company which was
founded 10 years before the telephone was patented, now relies on telephone lines to
communicate with its customers and distribute office products from one end of this country
to the other. Where customers first came to us in horse-drawn carriages, we now go to them
with the most sophisticated technology available.
This is a highly competitive industry, and our
success has come by focusing on customer needs. Our efficient distribution system keeps
our costs down; the result is lower costs for you. Since this particular method of doing
business does not require us to have the overhead costs of superstore parking lots,
expensive advertising programs and the tremendous costs of printing and distributing
catalogs, we are able to be much more cost efficient in the way we do business.
We can save you time by distributing to all of
your company offices, anywhere in the country
We can save you trouble because pricing is
consistent throughout all of your company locations
We can save you money by beating overall
prices of our major competitors
We can save you hassle by providing electronic
ordering, purchase history reports, and one-stop shopping for supplies, copiers, books,
and even great information to help you improve the way you do business.
The current on-line catalog boasts over 25,000
items. If you require something you don't see here, just drop us a note and we'll look
into it for you.
It is my sincere hope that you'll join us as we grow
together into the future. In order for us to serve you well, we welcome your e-mail suggestions, complaints and compliments. All comments are tallied
with others in order for us to respond quickly to the most pressing issues.
Finally, please add us to your "bookmark"
or "favorites" list and visit us often. With your help, we will do our best to
change and grow with your needs.
Thank you for your interest, your business, and your
diligence in helping us to be a better servant to all of our customers.
Yours,
Jeffrey E. Tobin
President
